Gemina & Gemma

Gertrud Vasegaard (1913-2007) worked for B&G from 1947-1958 and later for Royal Copenhagen, where she designed "Gemina" in 1960, "Gemma" in 1961 and "Capella" 1975.
Gemina is made in stoneware and remained in production until 1985. The pattern has with some justification been compared to the classic blue fluted service. The name means twin in latin and it was released together with its sister service Gemma. Both stoneware sets have identical shapes, but the rhombic ornament is stamped in the material on Gemma and handpainted in underglaze blue on Gemina.
Decoration number #41 (Gemina)
